Albert “Lee” Bennington, age 87 of Park River, ND passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the First Care Health Center of Park River.
Albert Lee Bennington was born May 18, 1928 in Park River, ND, the son of the late Albert Hilton and Florence (Bylin) Bennington. He was a 1946 graduate of the Walsh County Agricultural School, Park River. He was involved in Lettermen’s Club, FFA, grain judging, Victory Corps, stock judging and football. After graduation, Lee started his farming career east of Park River. He had an extensive farming operation, growing grain, potatoes and beets. Lee was united in marriage to Pearl A. Erickson on January 26, 1952 at the Baptist Parsonage in Park River, ND. Pearl passed away December 11, 2012.
He was a past director for Farmers Union Oil Company and Elevator and he was on the Township Board. Lee and his family belong to the Federated Church of Park River.
Lee is survived by his children: Mark Lee (Ruth) Bennington, Park River, ND; Ruth Ann (Owen) Melland, Hoople, ND; grandchildren: Jamie Lee (Mari) Bennington, Joshua James (Jerri) Bennington, McKayla Bennington, all of Park River, ND; Justin and Aaron Melland, Hoople, ND; great grandchild, Paige Bennington; sister, Jeanne Scherven, New Brighten, MN. He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and sisters: Marie Dale, Adeline Bennington and Ruth Crawford.
Funeral services will be Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:30 P.M. at the Federated Church, Park River. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, Park River.
