Agnes M. Falter

Agnes M. Falter, age 96 passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2015 at First Care Health Center of Park River, ND. Agnes M. Kotaska was born July 31, 1919 in Park River, ND the daughter of the late Alois and Rose (Kadlovec) Kotaska. She was the oldest in person in Park River that was born in Park River. She grew up and attended school in Park River. Agnes was united in marriage to Harold Falter on April 11, 1939 in Hecla, SD. During their early married life they had to move around to find work. They lived in Muskegon, MI all the way to Portland, OR. Agnes always said, "Life with Dad was never boring." They moved to Park River, ND and Agnes owned and operated Falter's Children's Wear. She was also co-owner of Harold's Bar. They also had apartments above the bar. Agnes was a 2nd generation Czech Pioneer Family of the USA. In order to qualify as a pioneer family, they had to be here by 1870. She was a caring mother and matriarch of her family. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society as well as the hospital auxiliary. She was also a charter member of the Park River Senior Citizens. She is survived by her children: Rosemary Miller, Anoka, MN; Margaret (Curtis) Douville, Anoka, MN; Teresa (Chris) Nielsen, Park River, ND; Mark Falter, St. Croix Falls, WI and Patrick (Wendy) Falter, Jamestown, ND; 11 grandchildren: Nicole Miller, Arligen Miller, Katy Ditmarsen, Merci Schoknecht, Vincent Douville, Andrea Eskuchen, Casie and Paige Falter, Trevor, Dirk and Adam Nielsen; 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold on Mar. 20 , 1997, sister, Emma Arness, brothers: Ernest and Elmer Kotaska, grandson, Rick Miller and great granddaughter, Emilee Ann Douville. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River, ND. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Friends may also call at the church on Thursday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Park River, ND.
