Agnes M. Bjerke, age 88, of Edinburg, ND passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008 at First Care Health Center of Park River, ND.
Agnes M. Bjerke was born June 23, 1919 near Nekoma, ND to the late Charlie and Hannah (Nelson) Nelson. She attended schools at Highland and Vejetasa School Districts. She married Otto Bjerke April 19, 1941 in Edinburg. The couple farmed near Edinburg and Adams. Otto passed away April 21, 1975. After Otto's death Agnes assisted with the elderly people, making it possible for them to stay in their own homes. Agnes retired in 1985 and later moved to Edinburg, ND.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg, ND, a member of the former Odalen Lutheran Church and a member of WELCA.
Agnes is survived by her son Arnold Bjerke, Edinburg, ND; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren; sister Lillian (John) Ruzicka, Grafton, ND; brother Ernest (June) Nelson, Sweet Home, OR; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Otto, brothers Carl and infant brother; sisters Hazel Jore, Helen Anderson, Doris Kinlaw, and Ruth Myren.
Funeral Services will be Monday, May 12, 2008 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Edinburg, ND.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 11, 2008 from 5-7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home, Edinburg, ND. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Odalen Lutheran Cemetery, Edinburg, ND.
The Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg is in charge of the arrangements.
