Adolph E. Drtina

Adolph E. Drtina, age 88 of Park River, ND and formerly of Lankin, ND died Sunday, June 10, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Center of Park River. Adolph E. Drtina was born February 11, 1924 to James and Anna (Shirek) Drtina in Medford Twp of Walsh County. He attended Medford and Cleveland country schools near Lankin. Following his education he farmed with his father and brothers in Cleveland Township. In the fall of 1955 he moved to Auburn, WA. He worked as a forklift operator for Georgia Pacific in Seattle, WA. He married Leona Kittleson in 1965 and to this union one daughter, Sherina was born. In 1975 he was united in marriage to Sara Harvey. Adolph retired from Georgia Pacific in 1986 after 31 years of service. Sara passed away in 1997 and in 2002, Adolph moved back to Park River where he made his home. Adolph enjoyed trapping, hunting, fishing and especially enjoyed visiting with family and friends. He enjoyed dancing and listening to Czech music. He was very proud of his Czech heritage. He was a member of the Eagle's Lodge in Auburn, WA and the W.F.L.A. Fraternal Kosobud Lodge near Lankin, ND. He is survived by his daughter Sherina (Dave) Pardy of Orting, WA, his step-children and several nieces and nephews. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sara, brothers: Jim, Joe, Frank and Clarence and sisters: Mary, Anna, Minnie, Adeline and Irene. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, June 16, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary's Catholic Church of Park River. Visitation will be Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the W.F.L. A. Kosobud Cemetery near Lankin.
