Adele W. Anderson

Adele W. Anderson, age 91 of Cavalier, ND and formerly of Edinburg, ND passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital of Cavalier. Adele W. Lindell was born July 23, 1923 in Edinburg, ND the daughter of the late Walter and Alice (Oberg) Lindell. She grew up and attended school there graduating as Salutatorian of her high school class. Following her education she moved with her mother to San Mateo, CA and worked for a time prior to her marriage to Johann A "Joe" Anderson on Dec. 20, 1941 at Burlingame, CA. Joe enlisted in the Armed Forces and served in World War II. Adele moved back to Edinburg. After Joe's discharge he returned to Edinburg and the couple started Anderson's Garage. The business later became Anderson Sales that served farmers in the Edinburg and Cavalier area. After retiring, the couple spent a good deal of time in Devils Lake. Joe passed away on October 6, 2001. Adele moved to County Estates in Cavalier in 2008 and in December of 2011 she moved to Wedgewood Manor. Adele was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and WELCA and the Edinburg American Legion Auxiliary. She is survived by her children: David (Kathy) Anderson, Nashville, TN, Dan (Nancy) Anderson, Cavalier, ND; Jolayne (Richard "Mac") McKnight, Cavalier, ND, daughter-in-law, Barbara Anderson, Edinburg, ND; three grandchildren: Suzanne (Chuck) Kartes, Kristin (Keith) Werk and Amy (Jay) Monroe, five great grandchildren: Brandon, Kameron, Konner, Kyra and Aiden. Adele was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Roy, grandson, Brian and brother, Warner Lindell. Funeral services will be Monday, October 27, 2014 at 10:30 A.M. at Trinity Lutheran Church of Edinburg, ND. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Edinburg. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Gardar Cemetery, Gardar, North Dakota.
