Fred T Ganssle

Frederick T. “Fred” Ganssle Jr., age 54 of Saint Thomas, ND passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at the Unity Medical Center of Grafton.

Fred Ganssle was born May 21, 1968 in Grafton, ND, the son of Linda (Fiedler) Ganssle and the late Frederick M. Ganssle.  He grew up and attended school in Saint Thomas, ND, graduating from Saint Thomas High School in 1987.  He went on to attend Lake Region State College in Devils Lake, ND, graduating with a degree in diesel mechanics.  Following his education he returned to Saint Thomas and began working as an agronomist for several places in the area, most recently for Otto Ag in Crystal, ND where he worked for the last 17 years.

Fred enjoyed watching football, NASCAR, playing golf and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his fiancé, Tami Dahl, Saint Thomas, ND; children: Jeremy (Morgan) Ganssle, Drayton, ND, Jacob (Heather) Ganssle, Crystal, ND, and Justin (Trina) Ganssle, Devils Lake, ND; 12 grandchildren; his mother Linda Ganssle, Saint Thomas, ND; siblings: Jamie (Kristi) Ganssle, Crystal, ND and Renae (Gary) Pic, Lawton, ND; step-children: Brock Dahl, Fargo, ND, Krista (Dee) Dahl, Grafton, ND and Karlin Dahl, Drayton, ND; as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father Frederick Ganssle; brother Shane Ganssle; and grandparents: Garfield and Ella Ganssle and Albert and Edith Fiedler.

Funeral services will be Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 3:00 PM at the Crystal School Gymnasium.  Visitation will be from 1-3 PM at the school.  A celebration of life will follow the funeral service at the Saint Thomas Legion at 4:00 PM. Inurnment will take place at St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery in rural Saint Thomas at a later date.
