Dennis Elwood Grove, Grand Forks, formerly of Adams, died April 19, 2020 due to renal failure. He was born on December 27, 1946 to Clara (Nelson) and Ellsworth Grove. He graduated from the Adams High School in 1964 and from Mayville State College in 1968 with majors in math and science. He earned his Master’s Degree from the University of North Dakota in 1974.
Dennis taught in Park River for several years and then in 1976, he and his brother Donald purchased a farm in Adams from Beatha and Clifford Grove. They farmed together until 1997. Dennis returned to teaching and taught in Adams and Hoople until his retirement in 2008.
Dennis had many interests and hobbies—including fishing, collectibles, baseball, animals— especially geese, ducks, and other birds, and gardening. Dennis was a life-long member of Adams Mountain Lutheran Church and served on the church council. Dennis was a kind man, respected teacher, and lived with integrity and humility. Dennis moved from Adams to Edgewood Parkwood Senior Living in 2017.
Survivors include his sister Carole Hallin, Little Canada, MN; brothers: Donald (Jolene) Grove and Marshall Grove, Adams and nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother in law, Stephen Hallin.
Burial at the West Adams Cemetery will be held at a later date.
