Stuart A. Swartz

Stuart A. Swartz, age 43 of Park River, ND passed away on Thursday, April 2nd of gastrointestinal cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family. Stuart Anthony Swartz was born on July 3, 1971 to Allen & Elaine (Denault) Swartz in Grafton, ND. He grew up and attended school in Pisek, ND graduating in 1989. He went on to the Ag Tech Program at State College of Science in Whapeton and finished his schooling at NDSU. He started his career as a mechanic at Oppegard's Equipment in Park River. From there he worked for Pella Corporation in Pella, Iowa, then moved to Jamestown, ND where he worked for Jamestown Implement. In 2007, he returned to Park River and worked as an Ag Salesman for Grafton Equipment/True North Equipment where he currently held the position of Corporate After Market Manager. He was a huge fan of his kids' sports and activities, loved hunting and fishing with his brothers and cousins, spending time with his family and friends, and watching the Pittsburg Steelers win. He is survived by his wife Joan Swartz, daughters Hannah & Elaina Swartz, step-daughter, Maris Miller and step-son, Emmitt Miller, all of Park River; parents Allen & Elaine Swartz of Park River; siblings Karen Lash, Castle Rock, CO; Linda (Donnie) Whitman, Daytona Beach, FL; Diane (Jerome) Gerszewski, Grand Forks, ND; Michele (Stan) Savoia, Peoria, AZ; Curt (Kristi) Swartz, Pisek, ND; Steve (Jeanene) Swartz, Grand Forks, ND; Brenda (Rob) Scherr, Park River, ND; Matt (Jess) Swartz, St. George, UT; Mike Swartz, Pisek, ND; Christine (Scot) Grove, Adams, ND; Nathan Swartz, Grand Forks, ND; and Cindy (Caleb) Walker, Cordova, TN; mother and father-in-law, Dale & Sharon O'Hara, Cavalier, ND; brother-in-law Jeff (Lisa) O'Hara, Cavalier, ND; and sisters-in-law, Lori (Terry Ruud) O'Hara, Dilworth, MN and Janet (Scott Whetter) O'Hara, Grand Forks, ND. Many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. He was preceeded in death by maternal grandparents Elphage & Amy Denault and Betty Denault and paternal grandparents Martin and Delia Swartz. Visitation will be Thursday, April 9th, 2015 from 4:00-7:00PM with prayer service at 7:00PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Park River. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 10th, 2015 at 10:30AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Park River. Interment will be in St. John's Catholic Cemetery, Pisek, ND.
