Eleanor Mausten
Eleanor Cochrane Mausten, age 102 passed away on December 19, 2007 in Minneapolis, MN. Eleanor Cochrane Mausten was born May 16, 1905 in Acton Township the daughter of the late George and Josaphine (Marchand) Cochrane. She grew up and attended school there. She graduated from Drayton High School in 1924 and later graduated from Valley City State Teachers College in 1928. She was united in marriage to Oliver Mausten on January 2, 1937. Oliver died December 14, 1960.
Eleanor taught school in several locations in North Dakota retiring in 1965. She moved to Minneapolis that same year where she joined the Westminister Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Minneapolis Art Institute and the Minnesota Historical Society.
She is survived by five nieces and one nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and six sisters. Eleanor was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Memorial services will be held Monday, April 21, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. at the Tollefson Funeral Home, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Monday for 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Crescent Cemetery, Grafton, ND.
