Meranda Samson Wilhelm Meranda F. Samson Wilhelm, age 93 of Grafton, ND passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Meranda F. Nelson was born December 23, 1914 in rural Walsh County, ND the daughter of the late Theodore Nelson JR and Anna (Miller) Nelson. She attended rural school near Grafton and graduated from Grafton High School. She was united in marriage to Louis Samson on August 30, 1934 in Grafton. She was employed at People’s Bakery in Grafton until 1958. Louis passed away on Jan. 19, 1947. She moved to Vancouver, Washington where she worked as the head housekeeper at the Southwest Medical Center. She married Jack Wilhelm on Aug. 28, 1964 in Vancouver. He died in December of 1998. She moved back to Grafton in June of 2003 and moved to the Lutheran Sunset Home on February 8, 2005. Meranda is survived by her daughters: Lois Penas and Betty Jean Samson both of Grafton, ND; Dorothy Stevens, Vancouver, WA; three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Two sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands and three brothers: Arnold, Lyle and Marvin. Funeral services will be Friday, March 14, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton and Friday for one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the Grafton Lutheran Cemetery, Grafton, ND. The Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton is in charge of the arrangements. Guest Book
