Glenn Okeson Glenn Okeson

Glenn L. Okeson, age 69 of Grafton, ND passed away in his home in Grafton. Glenn was born January 16, 1939 in Adams, ND the son of the late Lewis and Selma (Peterson) Okeson. He attended schools in Fairdale. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1957-1960 serving in Okinawa Japan. Following his discharge he returned to Adams where he was united in marriage to Marion Ellingson in October of 1960. The couple lived in Adams, McVille and Kloten, ND where he worked for various grain elevators. He later owned and operated Okeson Construction where he specialized in grain elevator repair. In the early 1970’s he moved to Alaska where he lived and worked until returning to Adams in 1981. He worked for his brother Milo and nephew Michael on the Okeson Farms. Glenn was united in marriage to his angel, Jeanne Monson on December 27, 1991 in Grand Forks. The couple lived there until July of 2001 when they moved to Grafton.

Glenn was an accomplished wood worker and loved spending time creating things.

He is survived by his “Forever Friend” Jeanne Monson, Grafton, ND; children: Corrinne (Scott) Carstenson, Minneapolis, MN; Lance (Julie) Okeson, Minot, ND; Larry (Heidi) Okeson, Fairview, MT; 14 grandchildren, brother and sisters: LeRoy (Marlene) Okeson, San Diego, CA; Lila Mae (LeRoy) Hamre, Dickinson, ND; Shirley Ann Myrvik, Edmore, ND; Darlene (Amos) Flaten, Park River, ND; sister-in-law JoAnn Okeson, Park River, ND. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Allen on Dec. 7, 2007 and brother Milo Okeson.

Memorial services will be Monday, February 25, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at the Grafton Lutheran Church, Grafton, ND. Visitation will be Sunday from 5-7 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Grafton. Friends may also call at the church on Monday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Gustavus-Adolphus Lutheran Cemetery, rural Adams, ND.
