Harold N. Lee

Harold Nels Lee, age 78 of Park River, ND passed away on Monday March 8th, 2010 at the family farm rural Lawton, ND. Harold Nels Lee was born May 15th, 1931 in Dewey Township rural Adams, ND son of the late Oscar & Mable (Knudson) Lee.
He attended Dewey School and was a member of Vang Lutheran Church. Following his education he worked on the family farm until 1957. On July 10th, 1954 he was united in marriage to Eleanor Schroeder in Fisher, MN. They moved to Grand Forks and Harold worked for Vern Hagen. In 1959 they purchased a farm in Shepherd Township where they resided until 1996 when they moved into Park River, ND. Harold continued to farm and raise livestock. Along with running his own farm, Harold spent 25 years helping Burbidge Potato Farm with their harvest and the shipping of their potatoes during the winter months.
Harold was a member of Mountain Lutheran Church, past president of Vang Lutheran Church, past 4-H leader & remained president of the Vang Cemetery. He was involved in the Sons of Norway Vaarliv Lodge #4-486.
Harold enjoyed farming, visiting with family, friends, & relatives. He enjoyed his dogs, especially his current pal Snickers, playing cards, bowling & watching baseball.
He is survived by wife of 55 years, Eleanor; children: Debra of Park River, Charlotte (Maynard) Landsem of Edmore, Steven (Deborah) Lee of Pisek, Larry (Stacy) Lee of Fargo, & Daryl of rural Lawton, ND; grandchildren: Connie Landsem, Duane (Brittney) Landsem, Jason Landsem, Ryan (Valerie) Lee, Jeremy Lee, Sarah Lee, Kayla Lee, Melissa Lee, Joshua (Samantha) Lee. Two step grandchildren Lindsey & Edward Grant. Two great grandchildren Jayden Lee & Wyatt Landsem and One step great grandchild Oryon Schemke. One brother; Lester (Patricia)Lee rural Adams, ND five sisters, Emma (Gaylord) Fosdick Cheyenne, WY, June Peterson Colorado Springs, CO, Elaine (Howard) Finger Fullerton, CA, Ellen Severson & Esther Brown both of Grafton, ND, Uncle; Ivan (Hilda) Knudson, Aunts; Verna Leedahl & Joyce Knudson. Several nieces, nephews & cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daughter Delores Lee, & Grand Daughter Landsem.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mountain Lutheran church of Adams, ND. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Tollefson Funeral Home of Park River. Friends may also call at the church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Vang Lutheran Cemetery, rural Fairdale, ND.
