Jack H McMartin

March 20, 1928 - January 30, 2010

Jack H. McMartin, age 81 of St. Thomas, ND passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at the Lutheran Sunset Home of Grafton. Jack H. McMartin was born March 20, 1928 in Grafton, ND the son of the late William and Bertha (Sand) McMartin. He grew up and attended school in St. Thomas. Following his education he farmed with his father. He married Bernice Grovum on February 28, 1959 in Grafton, ND. The couple lived and farmed near St. Thomas. He later farmed with his son Randy and retired from farming in 1994.

Jack was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of St. Thomas. He also served on the Pembina County Crop Improvement Board for a number of years.

He is survived by his wife Bernice of St. Thomas, ND; children: MaryBeth (Jim) Martin, Eagen, MN; Diane (David) Robertson, Greenfield, MN; Randy (Renae) McMartin, St. Thomas, ND; seven grandchildren: Cory Robertson, Chad Robertson, Trevor McMartin, Alyson McMartin, Courtney McMartin, Alaina Martin and Cole Martin; siblings: William (Enis) McMartin, Carmichael, CA; Jeanette (John) Lukenda, Trenton, NJ and Betty (Fred) Born, North Fort Myers, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be Friday, February 5, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at the St. John’s Lutheran Church of St. Thomas, ND. Visitation will be Friday for one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will be at St. Thomas City Cemetery.
