Keith O. Knudson, 79 of Fordville, ND died Sunday, May 27, 2018 at First Care Health Center in Park River.
Keith was born March 23, 1939 in Fordville, son of Nels and Margaret (Dahlen) Knudson. He was raised on the family farm in Cleveland Township, near Dahlen. He attended the township school and graduated from Dahlen High School in 1957. Upon completing his education, he worked on the Carl Reiten farm. He entered the United States Army on January 1960 serving until January 1963, when honorably discharged.
Keith married Linda Jallo on April 8, 1967 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Bechyne, ND and was a member until the time of his death. Keith was a lifetime member of Bosh-Ryba Post #157 of Lankin, ND of which he was very proud, as well as his son and grandson being members of Lankin’s, Sons of the American Legion. He was treasurer of the Dahlen Fire Department for over 40 years. He was a self-taught carpenter, but his main occupation and love was farming and raising sheep and goats alongside his son Todd and grandchildren Taylor and Trevor.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda of Fordville, ND; son Todd (Terry) Knudson of Dahlen, ND, daughter Stacey (Mark) Wasylow of Pisek, ND; five grandchildren: Trevor and Taylor Knudson and Wyatt, Olivia, and Ogden Wasylow; two brothers Maurice (Judy) of Four Seasons, MO and Paul (Sandy) of Fordville, ND; brother in law, Albin (Pam) Jallo Fordville, ND and mother in law, Mildred Jallo, Park River, ND. Several nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents, infant sister, and father in law, Kalmer Jallo.
Mass of Christian burial will be June 2, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Bechyne. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 A.M. prior to the service. Interment will be at Middle Forest River Cemetery of rural Dahlen. Military Rites will be provided by the Bosh-Ryba American Legion Post and the North Dakota National Guard Honor Guard.
