Elaine M Gemmill

Elaine M. Gemmill, age 87 of Edinburg, ND, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Woodside Village of Grand Forks. Elaine M. Behm was born June 12, 1926 in Niagara, ND, the daughter of the late William and Alma (Schmidt) Behm. She grew up and attended school at Niagara before moving to Grand Forks. She worked in the housekeeping department of the Deaconess Hospital as well as at several area grocery stores. She was united in marriage to Gene Gemmill on November 6, 1976 at Redeemer Lutheran Church of Grand Forks. She and Gene lived and farmed in the Edinburg area until health problems forced her to enter Wedgewood Manor in Cavalier and later Woodside Village in Grand Forks. She was a member of the Grace Free Lutheran Church and WMF of Edinburg, ND. She enjoyed bible studies and especially spending time with her nieces and nephews. Elaine is survived by her husband Gene, Edinburg, ND, sisters: Eleanor Broton, West Fargo, ND, Delores Krogen, San Jose, CA, Eunice (John) Novick, Hastings, MN, Verdelle Smith, Greyeagle, CA, Lorraine Abbott, Ramsey, MN, Ione (Roger) Jacobson, Battleground, WA, Marie (Floyd) Bye, East Grand Forks, MN, brother Bill (Mary) Behm, Grand Forks, ND, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Jeanette and Irene, and brothers: Virgil, Irvin, Donald, Bob, and Vernon. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Grace Free Lutheran Church of Edinburg. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Odalen Lutheran Cemetery of Rural Edinburg.
